In the year 2000, a tiny struggling company asked to be bought for $50 million and was laughed out of the room. That company was Netflix. Its founders approached the giant video rental chain Blockbuster and offered to sell the entire business. Blockbuster executives thought the idea was ridiculous—who would want movies delivered by mail? They rejected the offer and sent Netflix away. Years later, Netflix is worth hundreds of billions of dollars, while Blockbuster has almost completely disappeare
