There are three main types of Demarketing. The first is General Demarketing. Here, a company tries to reduce demand from all customers. For example, an electricity company asks all users to save power during peak hours. The second is Selective Demarketing. Here, a company discourages only some groups of customers. For example, a luxury brand may avoid advertising to budget-conscious customers, to keep its premium image.
