A loud knock downstairs snapped me out of my thoughts. “The cab is here!” Mum called. I dragged my suitcase to the door… struggling like always. But then… I froze. Emma. And Kelvin. Emma ran to me and hugged me tight… like she didn’t want to let go. “I’m going to miss you,” she whispered. “I’ll call you every day,” I said… but even I wasn’t sure if that would be enough. Then Kelvin stepped closer. “You’re really leaving,” he said. I nodded. He smiled a little. “Don’t forget your assi
