The classic case: R versus Blaue.
What happened.
A man stabbed a young woman, causing serious internal injury. She is taken to the hospital. The wound is now life-threatening. Medical treatment becomes necessary. She needs a blood transfusion to survive. She refuses the blood transfusion due to her religious beliefs as a Jehovah’s Witness. The refusal is voluntary and personal. It does not remove the original injury. She dies from complications of the wound.
