The 911 call came in at 3:17 AM. A woman whispering so quietly the operator had to lean in to hear: “Please… he tried to kill me… he’s still here…” Then the line went dead. Two officers arrived within minutes. The house stood alone, no lights on, front door slightly open like it was waiting for them. No neighbors. No noise. They stepped inside. The smell hit them first—thick, metallic… like something had been bleeding for a long time. Furniture was overturned. Deep gouges ripped through the
