It started as a sound. Faint, distant, quiet. Sarah looked up. “Do you hear that?” No one else did at first. Then a low rumble grew. “Is that thunder?” Jesse asked. “Sky’s clear,” Sam said. The sound grew louder. Dark shapes moved across the sky. Too fast. Too low. Everyone froze. “What is that?” Billy whispered. The rumble became a roar. A plane, unlike any they’d seen, thundered overhead. Something dropped straight toward them. “Run!” Sarah shouted. Panic erupted. Everyone scattered. Sarah gra
