The heat made the air shimmer above the red earth, and most people had already retreated into the shade of their homes.   But one boy was still working.   Sixteen-year-old Sadiq pushed a rusty wheelbarrow along the roadside, its metal frame squeaking with every step. Inside the wheelbarrow were the kinds of things most people considered useless — broken radios, cracked pots, twist
