While investigating a reported shots-fired incident near the northern entrance of the Parkway Gardens residential complex in Chicago, Trooper Riflekit of the Illinois State Police made contact with two unidentified, masked individuals. Body-worn camera footage depicts the individuals approaching from separate angles in a manner consistent with an attempted flanking movement. During the encounter, the trooper is audibly recorded stating, ‘I am going to kill both of you.’
