I used to be a mountaineer, and I was on an expedition on Aconcagua, the tallest mountain in the Americas. We were at camp three (around 6000m in altitude) and set to push for the summit in the morning. I’d been feeling a bit nauseated and sluggish that day, but nothing too alarming. But I woke up in the middle of night and something was horribly wrong. My head felt it was split open, I couldn’t stop vomiting / dry heaving, and I was talking gibberish. The world was upside down to me, I felt o
