Valak is slowly dragged back toward the dark pit, moving backward as it loses control. It keeps getting pulled down into the opening where it came from, step by step. At the same time, Sister Irene remains in the water, weak and struggling after the attack. She is still underwater while Valak is being pulled away. The distance between them grows as Valak continues sinking deeper into the pit. It disappears more and more until only the darkness of the opening is left, while Irene stays behind in
