Chapter 6: No Safe Place The wolf lunged. Sarah barely had time to react. She threw herself sideways, pain tearing through her arm as she hit the ground hard. The wolf’s claws scraped across the stone where she had been, the sound sharp and violent in the tight space of the cave. She tried to push herself up—but her strength wasn’t there. Not enough. The wolf turned instantly. No hesitation. No fear. It came again.
