Naruto is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto, serialized from September 1999 to November 2014. The story follows Naruto Uzumaki, a young ninja who dreams of becoming the Hokage, the leader of his village. The series is divided into two parts: the first part covers Naruto's pre-teen years (volumes 1–27) and the second part focuses on his teenage years (volumes 28–72). The manga was adapted into an anime television series by Pierrot, which aired from October 2002
