Sometimes, part of a complete exam includes checking private areas — the parts of your body covered by your swimsuit. These are called private because they are personal and only certain people, like doctors or parents, can touch them for health reasons. If you don’t know the names for these areas yet, that’s completely okay! We just call them private parts. During the exam, I only check these areas carefully and gently to make sure everything is healthy. A parent or guardian can be with yo.
