Before the cartoon existed, there was a real place called Gravity Falls. A small town, deep in the forests of Oregon. A sheriff’s office, a school, a lumber mill, and fewer than nine hundred people who called it home. Quiet, ordinary… at least at first. In the summer of 1967, two siblings, Mark and Dina Pines, were sent to stay with their great‑uncle Harold Pines in that town. Within weeks, Mark discovered something strange under a loose floorboard in his uncle’s cabin. A leather‑bound
