Let’s look at how the 3D Radius Gauge measurement technique outperforms traditional methods. Using a 3D Stitch image, we are inspecting for corrosion indications exceeding a two-millimeter diameter along this weld. Notice how the gauge automatically follows the surface topography and contour of the measurement. Because it is mapped in 3D space, it stays accurate even at the edges of the frame, compensating for the field-of-view distortion typically seen in the corners.
