It was around 1:40 AM when I got home. I lived in a pretty normal apartment block—nothing fancy, just one of those grey buildings where everyone kind of ignores each other. That night, the elevator was out of order, so I had to take the stairs up to the 5th floor. As I was climbing, I noticed something weird. The door to the 4th floor hallway was slightly open.
