Mining operations have also produced large amounts of toxic arsenic dust
leaving hundreds of thousands of tonnes of arsenic stored underground.
These projects were often supported by federal and provincial governments in the name of Canada's economic growth.
But, many Indigenous communities say they were not properly consulted before these projects were approved.
