UNIT 14: OSCILLATORS AND SIGNAL GENERATORS INTRODUCTION An oscillator generates a periodic signal without an external input. It uses positive feedback and a frequency‑determining network. Signal generators are instruments that produce test waveforms. STORY 1: RC Oscillators (Phase Shift, Wien Bridge) RC oscillators use resistors and capacitors to set the frequency. A phase‑shift oscillator uses three RC sections to get 180° phase shift. It produces a sine wave. A Wien bridge oscillator is more
