Mystery 1: The Garden of Eden's Blueprint — Göbekli
Tepe
You are standing on a windswept hill in southeastern Turkey, looking at a site that shouldn't
exist. Before you are massive T-shaped limestone pillars, some nearly twenty feet tall, carved
with intricate reliefs of scorpions, lions, and vultures. The wind is the only sound. There are no
roads nearby. No city. No explanation.
German archaeologist Klaus Schmidt began excavating this site in 1995.
