The shout tore through the camp. Everything snapped into motion. Jessie pushed forward, crashing through the narrow space between tents, dodging soldiers turning toward him. Boots pounded behind him. Voices shouted over each other. “Get him!” Jessie didn’t think. Didn’t plan. Just moved. He ducked past a stack of crates—nearly collided with another soldier—twisted away and kept running.
