And for a long time, that moment sat between us like something unspoken.
But life didn’t end there.
The surprising part is what came after.
As we grew up, we slowly rebuilt our relationship. Today, we’re incredibly close. I was his best man at his wedding, and I’m even the godfather to one of his kids.
We’ve come a long way from that moment… but I’ll never forget it, and I’ll always carry the lesson from it with me.
