Today I am going to talk about the use of dream interpretation in psychoanalysis, based on Sigmund Freud’s 1911 text, The Handling of Dream-Interpretation in Psycho-Analysis. First, it is important to understand that Freud is not explaining how to interpret dreams step by step. Instead, he focuses on how dream interpretation should be used during psychoanalytic treatment. This is a key point, because many beginners think that analyzing dreams completely is the most important part of therapy. How
