Sarah groaned softly. “I can help—sort of.” Jesse shook his head. “No. You need to rest. I’ll get something.” He moved carefully through the forest outside, eyes sharp for any signs of danger. He spotted berry bushes, some small roots, and even a cluster of mushrooms that looked safe. He gathered as much as he could carry without slowing himself down. Back at the cave, Jesse set the food
