The gravity model is one of the most widely used approaches in travel demand forecasting. It explains how trips are distributed between two zones based on two main factors: the level of activity in the origin and destination zones, and the distance or travel time between them. According to this model, the number of trips between two zones increases as the attraction of the destination zone increases, such as population or employment. At the same time, it decreases as the travel time or distance
