My boss found out about my side hustle… and told me to shut it down or quit. I never told anyone at work about it. After hours, I did freelance editing from home. Different clients, different work. Completely separate. Or at least… I thought it was. One day, HR emailed me. “Quick meeting.” No context. That’s when I knew something was wrong. I walked in, and my boss was already there. Serious. No small talk. HR started talking about “external work.” Then my boss said it directly. “We kn
