Taking time to make a mental note when I set down something important, like my keys. When I was younger I would lose my keys a lot, and I finally got fed up and vowed to not lose them again. So I started telling myself, “I put my keys on the counter” and taking a mental snapshot of them. Haven’t lost my keys since (knock on wood)
