Luca Giordano Giordano was the main Neapolitan artist of the late 1600s. Born 1634 in Naples, he was trained by Jusepe de Ribera, a Spanish artist famous for his realism. His artstyle was well-suited for large scale paintings, such as myths. Said style was formed through his knowledge of great 16th and 17th century artists, mainly that of other Neapolitan ones. He was often found in Venice, Florence, and Madrid, where he would become known as Luca fa presto, meaning ‘Luca paints quickly,’ due to
