Am I The Asshole for refusing to help my “golden child” brother after he finally messed up? I feel like I already know how this sounds, so I’m going to try to explain it without sounding bitter… but yeah, I probably am. I (27F) have an older brother, Jake (30M). Growing up, he was the golden child. Straight A’s, varsity sports, super outgoing—basically everything my parents wanted in a kid. Meanwhile, I was the “independent one,” which is just a nice way of saying I got a lot less attention be
