The graph above shows the percentages of the primary reasons for E­bike purchase in five European countries in 2022. In Germany, recreational purpose accounted for the highest percentage of reasons for E­bike purchase, which was also the case in the Netherlands and Belgium. In Austria, the percentage of sporting activity was the highest at 41%, which was three times higher than that of commute to work. Switzerland was the only country where the percentage of recreational purpose was below
