While removing a rare tumor from a patient during surgery, he accidentally cut his palm, and cancer cells slipped into his body through the open wound there. Five months later, a lump started forming in that very same place, and tests confirmed it was the exact rare cancer taken from his patient. He underwent surgery to remove it, and two years later, he was completely cancer-free.
