Chapter 1 “The Hammer and the Nail” California, September 21st, 6:30 AM. A young man stepped off his porch, the wooden boards groaning under his weight. He stomped onto the concrete sidewalk below, leaving cracks in his wake. His father’s voice thundered from his throat into the surrounding air. “Don’t you ever think of coming back to this damn house again, you worthless piece of trash!” The teenage boy didn’t flinch. He didn’t even look back. Instead, he raised his middle finger high, a sil
