For Ascension level 8, you need to reach level 10000, kill 1250 NPCs, defeat 500 bosses, deal 350 billion damage, and use your abilities 1200 times. You also need to clear Rune Dungeons (Hard) 10 times and Shadow Dungeons (Hard) 10 times. On top of that, you’ll need 2 Phantasm Cores from the Gilgamesh boss on Boss Island, and 3 Slime Cores from Slimes on Slime Island.
