Chapter 5: The Hidden Hut
Billy ran until his lungs burned.
The explosion behind him had turned the world into fire and noise. One moment he was with the camp—then everything shattered into smoke, heat, and falling trees.
He didn’t stop to look back. He couldn’t.
All he could do was run deeper into the bush, through branches that scratched his arms and roots that tried to drag him down.
Until finally… the forest went quiet again.
Too quiet.
