Chapter 3 SOMETHING ODD "Finally, there you are!" said their mother. She was at the bench, cutting up carrots for soup. "Thought we'd have to send out a search party," she added, smiling. Ellie flopped into a chair in front of the fire and warmed her hands. Jay went to see if there were any cookies left in the tin. "Mum," said Ellie, "we found something funny in the top field."
