The function of routing is to send an IP packet, consisting of a header (source and destination address) and encapsulated data, from one point to another. All devices have routing tables, which contain routes used to calculate the optimal journey of the messages that it is responsible for forwarding through other routers in the same or other networks. When a computer sends packets to another computer, it consults its routing table. If a packet is being sent to a destination on the same subnet,
