I turned slowly. Every instinct told me not to. But I had to. And that’s when I saw it. Standing in the corner of my room. In the dark. Barely visible. But enough. It was me. Or something that looked like me. Same height. Same face. Same clothes. But wrong. Its head was slightly tilted. Its smile… Too wide. Too still. It didn’t blink. Didn’t breathe. Just stared. At me. Then it spoke. Without moving its mouth. “You opened the door.”
