Air Conditioning In hot weather, we want to cool the building. Air conditioning does this. An air conditioner works like a refrigerator. It takes the hot air from inside the room, removes the heat, and blows cool air back in. The heat is released outside. Many air conditioners can also work as heaters. They are called heat pumps.
