Economic systems are the means by which countries determine how they will use these resources to resolve the basic problem of what, how much, how, and for whom, to produce. The main types of economic systems are a planned economy, a market economy and a mixed economy, while an open economy refers to a country’s economic relationship with the rest of the world.
