You know that the United States tried to buy many countries but failed. The first case was Cuba. In the 1850s, the US offered to buy Cuba for about $120 million and even hinted that if Spain refused, the army could use it. But Spain refused outright. Then comes Iceland. After buying Alaska, the US made a plan to buy Iceland from Denmark, but Denmark did not consider it necessary to talk. Next is the Dominican Republic. In 1869, US President Ulysses S. Grant proposed a plan to buy it for $1.5 mi
