CHAPTER 4 What the School Family Meant to Me Let’s begin with my “school mother.” She has always meant… and will always mean… so much to me. I could always go to her with my problems, and I will always remember that I could simply be there… and she would listen. To be honest, some days I felt very sorrowful… and when I went to her, I felt like a burden. It felt as though I was abusing God’s grace… and yet… I could feel God’s love through the way she cared for me… just like my real mother doe
