After attempting to initiate a traffic stop on a gray sedan for reckless driving in Chicago, the vehicle failed to yield and subsequently crashed into a commercial structure along Martin Luther King Drive. The driver exited the vehicle following the collision, at which time Trooper Riflekit of the Illinois State Police took cover behind his patrol unit. An officer-involved shooting ensued after the trooper reported observing the subject brandishing a firearm.
