Seneca used to suggest spending a few days each month eating the cheapest food and wearing rough clothes. ​Why? Because when you prove to yourself that you can survive the worst, you lose your fear of the future. Do hard things on purpose. Wake up early, hit the gym, take the cold shower. Build a mind that doesn't crumble when the air conditioning goes out
