When most people think of the Bible… they think of the four gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. But in the early centuries of Christianity… there were many more writings. Some told different stories. Some offered new teachings. And some… were considered too controversial to include. These became known as apocryphal texts— writings that were rejected, hidden, or banned. The gospel discovered in Egypt was one of them. Not because it lacked meaning… but because it challenged authority.
