Right now, the average Canadian spends more than half their income just to keep a roof over their head. Rates came down. Prices went back up. And a generation of buyers is being priced out permanently. The Bank of Canada cut interest rates from a peak of five percent all the way down to two point two five. That's a massive drop. And yet last month, housing got harder to afford in eleven out of thirteen major Canadian cities. Not because rates went up but because home prices quietly crept back up
