Hidden inside that last exercise is something important about how Excel works. When we sorted, the first thing we did was select what to sort by. In Excel, selection always comes first. Then you call up the feature. Sort lives in the Data tab — and you don't need to memorize that. If you think through your action in words, you'll find it naturally. "Sort the data by country." Break that down into pieces: select the country column → Data tab → Sort button. The logic connects. If the connection
