Julius Caesar. Born on July 12th, 100 BC... rose as a Roman general and statesman, whose ambition reshaped the Roman Republic into an empire. Caesar’s rise to power as Dictator for Life threatened the traditional authority of the Senate. To the Senate, he had become a threat to Rome itself. On March 15th, 44 BC... around sixty conspirators, led by Marcus Junius Brutus and Gaius Cassius Longinus, cornered Caesar during a Senate meeting at the Theatre of Pompey. They pulled out their daggers... an
