The sun over Lagos was a giant orange yolk, but inside the Balogun penthouse, everything was cool, marble, and very, very quiet. ​Ten-year-old Tobi sat at the dining table, staring at a plate of gourmet pancakes the chef had prepared. Across from him sat his father, Chief Balogun, whose eyes were glued to a glowing tablet. Beside him, his mother, Mrs. Balogun, was furiously typing on two different phones at once. ​"Dad?" Tobi whispered. "The Inter-School Science Fair is today."
