Pāhonoa te oro

I’m 18 now… and I finally have freedom. I can do what I want— piercings, tattoos, anything. But when I tried to tell my mom how much she hurt me growing up… she just said she didn’t care. She didn’t even want to hear it. And that honestly broke me more than anything. Because all I wanted was for her to understand how badly it affected my confidence. I didn’t feel pretty until 11th grade. So now… I’ve stopped talking to her. Am I the asshole?
