They target people whose traits can be used, envied, regulated through, or controlled.
Often people who are empathic, competent, forgiving, boundary-soft, admired by others, useful or has resources, emotionally invested,
triggering envy.
Not all people with narcissistic traits consciously calculate this. Sometimes it is instinctive, habitual, relational conditioning. Sometimes they target strength, sometimes weakness.
