Chapter 8: The Fall Billy kept low as he moved through the bush, each step careful, each breath controlled. Ahead of him, the soldiers moved between the trees—spreading out, searching. He couldn’t hear what they were saying anymore, just the distant crunch of boots and the occasional snap of a branch.
